Scholarships for On-Campus Learning at HGSE

The Harvard Club of Delaware (HCD) has a long-standing tradition of sponsoring Delaware educators to attend on-campus professional learning programs at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE).

Overview

This scholarship aims to provide Delaware educators and educational organizations access HGSE’s high-quality learning opportunities, empowering them to strengthen their teaching and leadership practices to improve student outcomes.

The scholarship is open to Delaware educators and administrators who are committed to improving K12 education in Delaware. Applicants must:

Be employed in Delaware during the upcoming school year.
Be willing to share program information and insights with colleagues in their school, district, or institution.

Scholarship recipients must also agree to:

Grant the Harvard Club of Delaware permission to publish their names and comments.
Respond to a Harvard Club of Delaware survey to provide feedback about their experience and ways to improve the scholarship program.
Participate in sharing knowledge gained from the program with other educators

The HCD Scholarship covers program fees and hotel accommodations. All other expenses, including transportation, meals, incidentals items, or medical costs are the responsibility of the recipient. The Harvard Club of Delaware does not assume liability for any expenses or issues arising from an applicant’s participation.

All scholarship applications for the Harvard Institute for Superintendents and District Leaders must be submitted by February 22, 2026.
All scholarship applications about the other sponsored programs must be submitted by March 15, 2026.

Step 1: Request Information
Complete the Request More Information form. A Professional Education team member will follow up within a week to learn about your professional development needs and share eligible programs.
Step 2: Confirm Program(s) of Interest
Work with the Professional Education team to identify the program(s) that best fit your goals.
Step 3: Apply for the Scholarship
Once you've confirmed your program choice with the Professional Education team, they will send you the scholarship application form. Submit it for review by the HCD Scholarship Committee.
Step 4: Receive a Decision
The committee meets twice a year to make decisions on Scholarships (early December and mid-March). You will receive a decision by email within two weeks of their review.
Step 5: Enroll and Prepare
If awarded, the Professional Education team will guide you through the program application and enrollment process—and help arrange your hotel accommodations.

Can I apply for a scholarship to attend more than one program?
Each individual may use the HCD scholarship for only one program per fiscal year (July -June). However, schools, districts, or higher education institutions may apply to sponsor teams for one or more programs within the same fiscal year.
I have received the scholarship before. Can I apply again?
Yes, you are welcome to re-apply. In your application, please describe how you applied your learning from the earlier program and how this new program will help you continue that momentum in your local context.
